In this day and age, we have become dependent on a system. We have forgotten that it IS an option to make our own. The benefits include knowing exactly what ingredients are used in the finished product and feeling good about giving it to your family.
Sometimes it's not about ALWAYS making it but knowing that in a pinch.... you have skills!
Almond milk done! This is a very simple process and is quite a savings PLUS there is NO carrageenan found in it. Here's how I do it.
Soak 2 cups of almonds overnight, rinse, drain, add a teaspoon or 2 of vanilla and enough water to make 2 quarts... blend in a high-powered blender until smooth. Some people strain the nut pulp at this point, but I don't because its mostly for my shakes and I like the added protein. Jar and refrigerate. Thats it!
