Shungite is a deep black rock that was discovered in 1792 in Shunga, Russia. There are lots of theories on where this rock originated or “came” from since it is found in one geographic location and contains almost all of the elements on the periodic table. It has a make-up of organic compounds, like any carbon does, but dates much older. Its molecules are hollow and unique. They are made up of Fullerenes or 3-D spherical molecules made of 60 carbon atoms which make a pentagonal structure. There are a couple grades of Shungite, the best being Noble or Elite. When you are looking to buy, if you see geometric shaped pieces, they are not elite, they are a lower grade. Elite Shungite is made up of 90% carbon which has so many benefits and the lesser the grade, the lesser the carbon content.
Shungite is said to provide protection and shields emf radiation (electromagnetic radiation fields). I put it all around the house particularly near anything that receives emf's, or gives off positive ions like tv's, monitors, modem, any appliance or anything cordless or wireless.

This means you need to be diligent about purchasing quality stones from a reputable source. Check any reviews and some even comes with a certificate of authenticity. Here is how to tell if what you have received is genuine Elite Shungite. It will light a flashlight up if pressed IN PLACE of the battery! To do this, unscrew the top off the light and touch the stone to the top connected to the light bulb. If the light comes on, it is real! No other rock will do this.
