Hello! Thank you for taking the time to come and sit with me for a few minutes! I have a couple announcements of big changes that are taking place, and I wanted you to know. I know that Facebook is convenient and easily puts recent posts all neat and tidy in your newsfeeds.... and I know that it is an extra step to go to a website link, then it is to read it as a Facebook post... This is what I wanted to talk to you about. It is time for me to separate from Facebook. Facebook makes it easy for trolls, unwanted advertising and people that come, whose intentions are not the purpose of community and learning. More and more Facebook is making changes that automatically head me in the direction of ads and marketing and "building a business" on my posts. This is not my intention on Facebook and I am getting frustrated with not having the choice to remain in my own little corner, just sharing.
My passion personally is to learn about things "homesteading", relearning the old skills that have been lost and how to create a life that is not solely dependent on a world system, if possible. I love to share and teach these thoughts and ideas to those who also are interested in learning these things. This has been what the Goshen acres homestead face book page has been about, sharing these things and daily life on the homestead. I recognize that there are those of you who are truly interested in learning, and it has been fun to see your names and get to know you through the years.
I feel with the world events and societal changes, it is important to make changes
A few weeks ago, I was doing inventory for my created products and realized that I have over 120 different products listed... that is crazy! I have received great feedback on many and how they have helped so much, but it's hard to get the word out for others to know and try. So, I have created a Facebook page specific to Goshen acres products. I will post and highlight individual products and welcome feedback! I will also post various posts that have to do with the making of products and certain plants that go into products and their medicinal benefits. You can find the Goshen Acres bath & body face book page HERE. Please like, follow and share the page to help get the word out for me!
The next big change will be to stop posting on the Goshen acres Facebook page on a regular basis. I feel that it is necessary to back away and keep personal information off of the easy access to many that could want to target or know where we are. I get messages often asking for a specific instruction or a recipe so in the past year I have transitioned to taking the "teaching" face book posts and writing them into the blog section on the website. This has made it easier for me to search and link the information to that person. For you, I know that it is "cumbersome" to come to the website, but I also recognize that there are many who specifically come to the Goshen acres homestead page because you also share the passion to learn the skills that have been lost which will help you to become more self-sufficient. It is to you that I want to keep the door open to share and learn! It is my passion to learn and share and as long as there are people with the same passion, I will stay, help and share. I just ask that you keep commenting and "liking" so I know that you are there. If I feel people haven't transitioned with me, then there would be no point in still taking the time to write and share in posts. It is also because it is "cumbersome" that I think it will not be worth the effort of those who are looking for an easy target to pursue the website, dividing the bad from our community.
The website has comment and message options and I will leave the Goshen homestead page up for a while, so I can still be reached there in messenger. Put Goshenacres.com in your favorites bar, so it is easily retrieved!
Thank you for understanding and I hope to continue on with the learning and sharing, just on a different platform... one that I have control of content and am not censored or have to be careful on what I say. As always, I hope that you have your systems all set and if not today is the day to start! It is time.
Please make sure that you are subscribed to the website so that you will be alerted to new content. I look forward to continuing the learning and sharing with you.
Happy journeying,
Katrine
